The foxes return

We wondered what had become of the foxes which used to visit our garden — we hadn’t seen them for a couple of months. This weekend, all became clear: they’d been lying low to raise a family of four cubs.

The cubs haven’t learned the meaning of caution yet. Here’s one looking at me from the other end of a raised vegetable patch. I think that’s a seed pod from an acacia tree in its mouth.
