Cycle parking at work

The cycle parking where I work is both secure and free so I suppose I shouldn’t grumble … but, hey, this is the interweb and one of the things which bugs me every single working day is my ongoing struggle with the wall-mounted cycle racks. Parking my bike involves me balancing on one leg and holding the bike vertically in place with the thigh of my other leg while fastening the lock at the wall with both hands. To make things harder the kitchen staff at la Tasca (don’t go there!) spilled a vat of crusty, slimy, rank cooking fat on the floor, and, several weeks on, it’s obvious they aren’t bothered about clearing it up.

Look at this though! Elsewhere in the car park, at no little expense, one of the building tenants has rented a car parking space and turned it into a superior level-access cycle park.
