Bristol Half Marathon, 2008
Congratulations Gail!
The weather couldn’t have been better for today’s Bristol half marathon. The organisers seemed to have learned from previous years: a staggered start and a route which finished by meandering around the centre kept human traffic manageable and made a great event for spectators — even if some of the runners must have found it hard to keep approaching the finish only to head out again, like aeroplanes circling in wait for a landing slot.
We cheered Gail on twice at Queens Square (at opposite corners), by the Hole in the Wall pub, crossing Redcliffe Bridge, and finally in the home straight.
